There is another time called the ctime - change time - which gets changed when you edit files. <br /><br />It seems that rsync, which is the underlying sync tool understands xattrs as of version 3. Looks like only 2.6.9 is installed by default on Leopard<br /><br />We looked at changing the modification dates on files with OpenMeta, but it was not a good idea in the end. You need a tool that can detect changes in ctime. Or a tool that looks for changes in xattrs. <br /><br />There are ways to get rsync 3 on a mac, but likely chrono sync will do the job.<br /><br />--Tom]]>

Then synced the 2 folders. The file & tag were carried over to the 2nd folder.<br />Then I tagged the RTF file again in the 1st folder without altering it in any other way (e.g. editing it & re-saving it). Synced it & it successfully synced the new tag over to the RTF file in the 2nd folder again.<br /><br />When creating the ChronoSync file I went to Options > Sync Triggers & changed it from Basic w/Attributes to Extended to make sure it included Extended Attributes.]]>
