  • Adding Images in Posts

In order to add an image to a discussion, you need to first have a url to the image. This means that you have to upload the image to somewhere on the internet.

One easy way to do this is to use www. www.postimage.com.

You need to upload your image (remember anyone can see the image by reading a posting here, or other methods). After you upload the image you need to copy the 'html' line and paste it into a discussion comment.

Here is the format of an image in html. (only needed if you do not use postimage.org)

      <img src="http://site.com/pictlink.jpg"/>

This forum does not use BBCode - rather it uses html.

  • Adding Link

You can add a link to a posting: Copy the template below, and replace xxx with the URL, and yyy with what you want to call it (which can be the same as the URL).

      <a href="xxx">yyy</a>

We like to offer discounts! If you own Yep and want to see what discount you get on Leap, just make sure Yep is installed and registered, then click on the 'Buy Now' button in Leap, and follow the directions. The coupon is good for a discount on Leap or the Yep + Leap bundle. You can see the amount of discount when after you enter the coupon in the online store. When you purchase Leap, adding a license for Yep is only a little more money. Right now, though we have no other discounts for Leap owners.

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />I currently have a Yep license. When I do try &quot;buy now&quot; in Leap I only get the option for the bundle, not for Leap only (as indicated above). Is there something I'm missing?

    Thanks.

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />Ah, I see. The info in Leap is incorrect as the coupon DOES work for Leap as well as the bundle.
    Should have looked before LEAPing.

    Thanks for some great products!!!

Yep is available AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE for an extra $10 when purchasing Leap. Alas, at this point we don't have any other specials for buying Yep after buying Leap, sorry.

    <strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />what Leap “buy” button?
  2.
If you run Leap after installing and registering Yep, then when you press the 'Buy Now' button in Leap on the 'Welcome to Leap' button, a dialog will come up that takes you to the online store.

When you get to the store you can buy a bundle and get another Yep License and Leap License for the same price as just buying Leap, currently the price with the coupon is $39 USD.

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />Is there a discount off the Leap price of $29.50 at the MacZot site this weekend for registered Yep owners? When Yep was the MacZot special recently I seem to remember something to the effect that there was to be a Yep owner discount on Leap on top of the MacZot discount.

satisfied yep user here, willing leap adopter too

i only purchased yep as the pdf functionality is what i needed and the leap portion was just what i wanted.

i am looking forward to seeing a maczot type deal for those of us who have already bought a full price yep license.

Yep owners can download Leap and when it runs press the "Buy Now" button (see Tom's post above for an image) and then Leap will tell you how much you get off Leap. Depending on when you bought Yep, you may get a free license to Leap or you might get a discount. This discount is not on top of any other special offers though. Hope this helps.

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />I just checked the MacZot archives and found that I remembered correctly. On March 21 at 10:30 a.m., Tom Andersen wrote "Hi, I have talked to the macZOT team, and we will be having a Leap deal in a week or so (perhaps the last few days of March). Leap will be on at a usual macZOT deep discount, with an extra discount for Yep owners! This means that there is no reason not to buy Yep today." So my memory's OK but my eyes are going. I can't seem to find a link to the Yep owners extra discount. Has somebody else located it?

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />You probably have lost my sale. A couple of days ago I downloaded Leap to see if it would be useful for a project I'm doing. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say Leap meets my needs about a 7 or so. I honestly didn't think it was worth it for the price you're asking. So imagine my surprise when my RSS feed gets an entry from Tagamac telling me Leap is on sale this weekend. The problem is I have to deal with MacZot.

Even though I haven't dealt with MacZot, I sign up and try to purchase Leap. I then find out they *only* take Paypal, which I've refused to use: http://www.paypalsucks.com/

Now Ironic Software takes Kagi, which I've dealt with before, but the sale price isn't valid here on Ironic Software, apparently.

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />It's right there in the MacZot archives. It was technically too tricky to offer an extra discount on Leap for Yep owners, so they decided to offer Leap for "the extra discount price" for everybody.

Where did you find the list of programs for the upcoming bundle?

Right now, we don't have any specials on Yep if you already own Leap. We will look into it, but I can't make any promises about it.

I think that the MacUpdate bundle may be in an ad in MacWorld magazine?

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />That's right, the details are in the latest print issue of MacWorld. The bundle looks awesome, good apps in there. I just can't justify paying full price for Yep. I was thinking of buying both, but now the bundle is coming and I can't turn that down.

    Hi,

I did purchase the MUPromo and just downloaded and registered my copy of Leap. It looks like a great program and will really help me organize once I get the hang of it. I was also wondering if Yep was discounted, since I purchased Leap through MacUpdate? I'd like to get it as well, but wanted to know if you would be offering it at a discounted rate or not. If you decide to, I'm also wondering you the purchase process works.

The home page claims For only $10 more you can get Yep too! but doesn't explicitly indicate if that could apply to previous and/or discounted Leap purchases. The store page only shows Leap and Yep for $69, $10 more than Leap alone -- no other discounts.

[Edit: I haven't tested it, but based on Tom's earlier posts there might be a discount on Yep if you purchase directly from the app when a registered version of Leap is installed.]

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />I have owned and used Yep for a couple of years, but now that I have bought a new computer I am unable to transfer it across. Attempts to migrate to new machine (MacBook Pro) from old G$ Powermac only leave me with a 'Trial copy' which will expire in 21 days and will not accept my original 'Yep Key' registration number.
m I doing something wrong, or is it really impossible to move Yup onto a new machine?

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />I also bought Leap as part of a bundle. Since I already owned some of the other programs such as Bannerzest and Parallels, I bought it mostly to get Leap.

I don't feel like I'm entitled to the same discount as if I had bought the two programs together, but you might consider offering a $20 upgrade. This would make sense since one would be upgrading from the more expensive program of the two.

For the "guest" comment regarding whether they can move Yep from one machine to another: yes, this is possible. You will need to select "License..." from the Yep menu and make note of your registration number. The reg number is tied to whatever email you used to register Yep. If you didn't make note of that when you purchased it and didn't keep the original email sent to you then you can write to us directly and we can look this up for you. Hope this helps.

Kevin: sorry, we don't currently have a way to purchase Yep at a discount after purchasing Leap (right now the only discount we have is when they are purchased together). I'll talk to Tom about this and see if there is something we can work out, but it would require a revision of Yep to work so it probably won't be for a while yet. Sorry about that.

    Thanks for clarifying that, Ted.

While that's true it maybe worth explicitly saying so on the main site to help reduce other people asking in the future.

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />Sorry for posting again, but the fact you don't seem to have a discount policy for Yep intended for recent Leap owners makes me think that once you've got Leap, well, you don't really need Yep.

Please let me know (although i read what the developer wrote about this on his web page).

Whoa, from reading the prices in this thread, the prices have really gone up, as people have mentioned $39 for both--in March 2008. Now it seems to be $69 (for the pair).

I would like to buy, but $69 for the pair makes me pause. I had Leap installed for a demo, and used it occasionally. I can see some convenience in it, but even after having it on the machine for months, I only used it 4-5 times. And I have a ton of PDFs. I also installed YEP for the trial, but I think I only got to use it once--it seems to have timed out rather than considering how many times I used it. :(

For $39, I would consider these more seriously, even for very part time use. $69 is getting up to "hmmm, do I really need it?" levels. Any discounts/coupons out there I'm missing?

I'm also not sure what YEP! does in addition to LEAP! Doesn't LEAP do the same things? I didn't have enough time to evaluate YEP. I'm chronically downloading stuff to try and then letting it linger around until it's too late :)

<strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />I've bought and installed YEP before and would like to purchase LEAP recently. I follow one of the methods mentioned here: Open LEAP and click the &quot;Buy now&quot; button. When I receive the license, I realize it is another license for YEP, not mentioning anything about LEAP. I re-activate YEP with this new license, see if it is one for a bundle. What I find is this license cannot activate the LEAP I downloaded. Any advice please?

There is currently no discount available for Deep except for the bundle price available at the time of purchase (which is an amazing deal if you do the math!)

However, we do engage in promotions from time to time so discounts may become available throughout the year.
